The ReelBottom Lake Minnetonka Map in the LakeMaster Lake Map application was surveyed during the Summer of 2002. The lake survey was completed by the surveying company ReelBottom / Sonar Map, Inc.
Certain areas surveyed were affected by the dense mats of Eurasian Water milfoil. Due to the significant Eurasian Watermilfoil bloom at that time, the areas affected by the dense mats of Eurasian Watermilfoil will reflect the top of the vegetation and not the true lake bottom. This situation arises due to the highly sensitive sonar equipment used to complete the lake-mapping project. Navigational hazard areas are marked with hazard buoys. The areas of the lake that are not affected by very dense mats of Eurasian Water milfoil will have extremely accurate depth survey readings, which our customers have come to appreciate.
