Mississippi River Pools 16 to 20: The Mississippi River is above flood stage throughout Pools 16-20 and many of the boat ramps are flooded over. The river has crested and is forecasted to slowly fall over the next week. Fishing has been difficult due to limited access and high water.

In Pool 16, tailwater stage at Lock and Dam 15 is 16.35 feet and is forecasted to slowly fall over the next week. A few fish are being caught even with the high water. White bass are being caught on twister tails and inline spinners in Sylvan Slough, Sunset Marina, and any place with an eddy. Some channel catfish are being caught on shad guts. A few crappies are being caught in Sunset Marina on minnows.

In Pool 17, tailwater stage at Lock and Dam 16 has reached its crest at 16.63 feet and is expected to slowly fall over the next week. Some channel catfish are being caught on shad guts and white bass are being caught around the harbor in Muscatine. Muscatine Slough has also been producing some channel catfish and a few crappies.

In Pool 18, tailwater stage is 18.4 feet and is predicted to start falling over the next week. The Toolesboro landing is closed and fishing has been slow due to high water. In Pool 19, tailwater stage at Lock and Dam 18 is 13.8 feet and is forecasted to start falling over the next week. Fishing has been slow due to high water. In Pool 20, tailwater stage at Lock and Dam 19 is 17.2 feet and is expected to reach its crest by this weekend. Fishing is slow due to high water.

Lake Darling (Washington): The lake is fairly muddy after all the rain. Water temperature is in the mid-50s. Smaller crappies are in and out of the shallow water. Look for larger crappies to start to come in the next couple of weeks.

Lake Belva Deer (Keokuk): Anglers are catching bass along the jetties. Catfish seem to be in those same areas. Night crawlers are the best bet for catfish. Anglers are also catching some nice Keokuk County-stocked walleyes near the beach and down by the dam.

Lake Geode (Henry): Anglers are catching some bass along the dam and off the rocks. Look for catfish to be around where the gullies run into the lake.

Coralville Reservoir (Johnson): Anglers are catching a few walleyes and saugeyes below the Macbride spillway. Most are using a jig and white twister. This bite will most likely be a short lived event.

Lake Macbride (Johnson): Some crappies are being caught in 10 to 15 feet of water over structure. Crappies should begin to migrate to shallow areas if the water temperatures hold or warm up.

Lake Odessa (Louisa): Odessa is about 18 inches above normal spring level. The boat ramps at Sand Run and Schafer's are open.

Lake Rathbun (Appanoose): Some crappies have been biting on small jigs fished near brush piles in 10 to 15 feet of water. Water temperature is 52 degrees. Channel catfish have been biting on night crawlers and shad guts in areas where water is running into the lake.

Lake Sugema (Van Buren): Walleyes have been hitting on jig and minnow combinations along the dam and other rocky areas. Some crappies have been biting on small jigs and minnows, and on small jigs being trolled along the flooded timber.

Lake Wapello (Davis): The lake level is about 4 feet below normal due to repairs being done on the dam. The boat ramps are still usable.

Lake Keomah (Mahaska): Largemouth bass have been hitting on artificial lures, such as plastic worms and spinner baits. Try along the rock jetties and around any submerged habitat.

Skunk River (Keokuk and Washington): Flooded.

Iowa River (Louisa): The Iowa River is forecasted to be at flood stage or worse until the middle of next week.

Cedar River (Muscatine and Louisa): Forecasted to be flooded until about next Wednesday.
